1948 Display
C. Al Joy, Sales Manager for Trains preparing an Exhibit for the Eastern
States Exposition.
In addition to identifying Mr. Joy, a note on the reverse of
this photo states that the layout was built by "C. Roxor Short."
V. Roxor Short was a layout builder whose name can be found on
factory layouts sold to stores in the late 40's so I think the "C"
is most likely an error. I examined census records for
1940 and discovered that V. Roxor Short had one son born in 1930,
Glen K. Short. I believe that the young man pictured in
the photo is Glen Short. Glen can be seen clearly identified
in a 1955 photo at work on the 3rd first floor layout at the New
York Hall of Science.
