Gilbert Delivers the Goods  Gilbert Trucks - Photo Album

Gilbert TruckHere are some fine examples of classic trucks that were used to carry Gilbert merchandise or other materials. They present some interesting subjects for modeling. My understanding is that they were used mostly for transporting materials between the Gilbert Factories in New Haven and Branford, Connecticut. While there are four trucks pictured, a close examination of the license plate on the truck reveals it to be the same truck in all the photos. Likewise, it appears that there are only two trailers here, the Erector/American Flyer trailer and the Polar Cub/Gilbert Appliances trailer. The truck driver must have been busy that day.  Click on the photo at the left or on the button at the top to see the photo album.
