Gilbert Delivers the Goods
Here
are some fine examples of classic trucks that were used to
carry Gilbert merchandise or other materials. They present
some interesting subjects for modeling. My understanding is
that they were used mostly for transporting materials
between the Gilbert Factories in New Haven and Branford,
Connecticut. While there are four trucks pictured, a close
examination of the license plate on the truck reveals it to
be the same truck in all the photos. Likewise, it appears
that there are only two trailers here, the Erector/American
Flyer trailer and the Polar Cub/Gilbert Appliances trailer.
The truck driver must have been busy that day. Click on the
