It was through the catalogs that most of us got our first glimpse of the show room layout on the second floor of the New York Hall of Science.  For most of us, it was our only glimpse and we didn't really know for sure what it was we were looking at, as the photos were never labeled.  It was just a fantastic layout, what we wished we had to run our trains on.

This section collects those catalog illustrations and identifies the areas of the layout pictured.  It also includes the cover illustration from the 1st edition of How to Build and Operate a Model Railroad, by Marshall McClintock. (Note:  The cover illustration on the 2nd edition is from the "Super Layout" on the first floor, not the 2nd floor layout.)
